Hi Friends!
I have a fun engagement session for you today! Their love story begins in Fort Collins, Colorado at Colorado State University where they both attended college. Kaitlin was always curious of what kind of girl would date this goofy character they called ‘Jeremy’. Little did she know that he was actually her soul mate. Fast forward five and a half years later on a holiday trip to London, England while sitting in a cafe called Champagne and Fromage, Jeremy got down on one knee (after fake knocking something off the table…) and asked Kaitlin to spend the rest of her life with him. Kaitlin and Jeremy had the pleasure of having not one but TWO engagement sessions before their big day coming up! They are tying the knot in one of their favorite places, Montana. I met Kaitlin awhile back and we did some really fun projects together! She’s a super talented blogger and focuses on everything “hostess” related! She IS The Every Hostess! You can check out her amazing blog for beauty tips, what to wear when hosting a party, great recipes and lots of other fun stuff! I asked Kaitlin to write up a few tips for you to consider for your Engagement Session!
From Kaitlin:
1. Don’t over think it! These photos are meant to capture you and your fiancé in this blissful “engagement” period! And it’s a great way to have a trial run with not only your photographer, but with how comfortable you both are in front of the camera to get ready for your wedding day.
2. Make sure your groom smiles! Most grooms definitely find engagement sessions the last thing on earth they want to be doing during their spare time. Continue to remind them how much fun the end result will be! I enticed my fiancé with food and booze haha!
3. When it comes to what to wear, pick out things that feel most like yourself, but a dressed up version. These photos are just as important as your wedding day photos. You’re capturing such a special time in your life so put some effort into your outfits! Jeremy and I love to dress up so this was easy for us! I chose a blush colored gown and he wore a grey linen suit. Definitely be comfortable in what you are wearing, especially with shoes. You never know if your photographer is going to have you trudging through the woods!
4. Bring a BOUQUET! These lovelies were crafted by Plum Sage Flowers and really made a gorgeous addition to our shoot!
Enjoy,
Kaitlin
