I have to start this post by saying that I am so incredibly thankful to Debbie & Andreas for believing in me, relying on me, trusting me and flying me all the way to Italy for their gorgeous wedding! It’s was truly something that I had written down on a little “bucket list” I had made for myself a few weeks prior. I had studied abroad in Italy when I was in college and absolutely fell in love with the country and the Italian people. The simplicities, the FOOD, the intimacy of every day life, the GELATO, the scenery, the language. . . really everything. I studied photography while I was there so it was absolutely fitting that my next trip back would be to photograph a wedding (also, what!?). Not only was I able to travel abroad for this amazing experience but one of my best friends was hired as well for her amazing skills with hair and makeup! Jami and I made the most perfect travel partners and I’ll leave our shenanigans for another post (coming soon!). But huge shout out to her for making the Bride and bridesmaids look absolutely stunning!
The Villa where everything took place, Borgo I Vicelli is just a few minutes outside of Florence nestled in the rolling hills of Tuscany (dreamy, right!?) It was a gorgeous place to spend a few days and the most perfect setting for a wedding. The weather forecast was calling for rain on the day of the wedding and the morning was cloudy with some light sprinkles. There was some scrambling going on as to whether or not to have the reception outdoors as Debbie & Andreas had originally planned. Their whole vision of this gorgeous farm table set up in the courtyard under twinkle lights might have to be moved indoors. They decided to chance it and set up in the courtyard and what do you know. . . the SUN came out!! The girls were getting ready and Debbie looked out the window and shrieked ( I thought she saw and scary Italian rat or something!), but she was shrieking with joy over the SUN! The entire day was absolutely perfect! The weather held out and was gorgeous, their guests laughed and cried during their ceremony, enjoyed a beautiful cocktail hour by the pool with as many appetizers as one could imagine and dined al fresco on a delicious Italian meal of incredible pasta and wine. Yes, it was a dream!
Debbie & Andreas the love that you have for each other is beautiful. There are many ups and downs in relationships and hard times for sure, but you make it look easy. You have brought together a lovely family and have such huge hearts that just keep giving. Congratulations on your marriage and a lifetime of happiness! Many thanks again (thank you, thank you, thank you. . . ) for having me to capture your storybook wedding!
Tanta felicità
