Rachel & Babak | A Saratoga Springs Wedding | California

Rachel & Babak got married under a canopy of trees in a California forrest of dreams. . . literally. This place was literally out of a fairy tale and the newlyweds fit right in. Rachel was like a beautiful fairy princess frolicking along in the trees and Babak her prince. Ok, I’m getting a little mushy. . . but honestly. . . that’s how I felt all day at Saratoga Springs. All we needed was some pixie dust and sparkles flying through the air!

Rachel & Babak asked me to photograph their wedding last year and I couldn’t have been more thrilled! Rach and I go way back to when we used to work at Pasta Jays in Boulder slingin’ pasta! She was always a blast to work with and when I walked into my shift and saw her there I knew it would be a fun night. Rachel has the best sense of humor and an optimistic way of looking at everything. She is so laid back and extremely genuine. Years ago when one of Rachel’s girlfriends asked her to go to a comedy show with her one night, she agreed and they headed out. Little did Rachel know that the comedian they would be seeing that night would end up being her future husband! When I heard Babak was a comedian, I KNEW they were a perfect match! Now they are BOTH teachers and still the perfect match:)

Their best friends who spent the day with them, couldn’t have been any more fun to be around. I felt so welcomed by everyone and they made my “job” such a breeze! Actually when I was sitting on the airplane ready to take off to San Jose, I was awkwardly sitting there wondering who was going to be assigned the seat next to me. Large old man walking towards me. . . phew! Mom and toddler coming. . . phew! Cute girl with long blonde hair. . . cool! She sat down and I asked her what she was going to California for. She smiled and told be her best friend was getting married and that she was the maid of honor. I got a little excited and asked her what her friends name was. You guessed it. . . Rachel! What a coincidence! I was randomly assigned to sit next to Kelsey, Rachel’s best friend! We chatted the whole way and she filled me in on all the wedding details! Yay!

On their wedding day, Rachel was the most laid back and gorgeous bride! She truly sank in every moment and never once looked stressed or worried about a thing. When she saw Babak for the first time there was nothing but smiles and giggles from the both of them. I hadn’t had the chance to meet Babak until this weekend but as soon as I did, there was nothing but warmth from him. And the way he looked at Rachel you could just tell. . . just know, that he loves her so much. There were both laughter and tears from their guests as they said their vows to one another under the trees. As the sun set they danced under the twinkle lights in the forrest. . . which I guess could be the pixie dust and sparkles to complete their fairy tale wedding.
