Italy travels part 2!

Where has the time gone??? I cant believe the summer is almost over and I haven’t even shared the 2nd half of my trip to Italy! Jeez! Well, it’s about time! If you want to check out the first post you can find it here to get all caught up:) After Debbie & Andreas’ gorgeous wedding was over, Jami and I decided to hop on a train the next morning and check out the sites of Cinque Terra. You know the ones. . . the post card views of the beautiful, colorful buildings hanging off a cliff about to fall right into the sea. . . yeah, well we went there! SO PRETTY! I had been their once before, but like I said, it was FOR-EVER ago and I really didn’t remember too much of the details. Well it didnt disappoint. Since we really only had one day there we did not do the hike where you can get to each of the 5 towns by foot. . . (lets be honest, we probably wouldn’t have done the hike if we had a full week there!) Instead, we browsed the shops, tried to eat at a recommended restaurant (only to get there 5 min after they closed. . . I almost cried!), so we found another spot and had wine and mussels, devoured more gelato, took a boat ride (click for more info on boat accessories) to see the coast (which was awesome!), enjoyed happy hour at a super cute cafe, and soaked up some sun. All in all, considering we only spent a portion of the day there. . . we did a lot and had a great time!

The next part of our trip was spent in Venice and it was a blast! The first part of the day actually getting there and then being stood up by our Home Away renter (I’m not even going to get into it, or I’ll get mad again!) was less than fun. . . BUT we quickly recovered, found a new hotel to say in and immediately started drinking wine! All better! The city is so amazing! Again, I had been there before on my first trip to Italy, but I honestly didn’t remember anything! (What is wrong with my brain? My husband tells me my “pregnancy brain” never went away and I’m starting to believe him!) There is so much history that you would literally spend weeks there learning about everything! We did a short tour with an awesome tour guide and learned a bit, but just scratched the surface. We shot some gorgeous pics of Jen & T to celebrate their 10 year anniversary you can see here! It was so much fun and a HUGE highlight of my trip! More eating, drinking, gelato consuming. . . of course! And then we had to say good bye to our lovely Italy and return home to our families. Although we were sad to go, it was time to get back and we have some ah-mazing memories and photos to keep with us always! Until next time. . . and I truly hope there is a next time SOON. . . arrivederci!
