Isabelle & Michael | A Shupe Homestead Wedding

I’m so excited to bring you this gorgeous wedding today! Michael and Isabelle are the type of people you feel instantly comfortable with. They are both full of joy and compassion. I not only got to capture their lovely wedding day, but I felt truly fortunate to witness their emotional ceremony. It is one I will soon not forget. They made sure their ceremony was 100% personal and meaningful. With the help of Michael’s cousin, Madeline who officiated their were laughs, tears and  endless moments of making your heart feel all the feels. I started to write out their cute love story, but thought I’d bring it to you straight from them! Here’s their story from their wedding website:

Michael and Isabelle both grew up in Boulder but did not cross paths until they went to college at the University of Colorado, Boulder. They had mutual friends from high school who introduced the couple in the Fall of 2007. They quickly became close friends but Isabelle kept Michael in the “friend zone” because he was just too nice. After Isabelle graduated in 2010 she quickly decided to pursue a Masters degree at Smith College in Massachusetts. Isabelle and Michael were still close friends that stayed in touch when Isabelle was away. In 2011, Isabelle decided to complete her internship in Denver, while Michael was beginning his engineering career at FIRST RF. Isabelle and Michael were both living with their parents and continued to build their friendship while both completing grueling college programs. During this time, Michael tried to convince Isabelle to date, but the effects of a graduate Social Work program were too strong. Isabelle ended up breaking Michael’s heart and they lost touch for several years. Eventually, Michael decided it was time for him to get a dog and he found his first true love Howard (Doodle Bean). Immediately, he knew who he wanted to tell about his new best friend. Michael reached out to Isabelle and they met at the Boulder Reservoir. After that meeting Isabelle knew there was still something there but did not want to risk hurting Michael again so she let it go. A few years later, Michael noticed that Isabelle had now also gotten a dog and he reached out to plan a doggy play date with Isabelle and Sigmund Freud (Sigi) in Fort Collins. Michael, Isabelle, Howie and Sigi drove up the Poudre Canyon for a hike, and it was as if no time had passed. Isabelle and Michael talked about everything that had happened in the past few years and everything they hoped and dreamed for the future. Isabelle had a gala that evening and Michael stayed as long as he possibly could before her took Isabelle to the event. The next day, Michael invited Isabelle to go to the mountains for the following weekend. With butterflies in her stomach, Isabelle agreed and began to fantasize about what the weekend might hold. They both anxiously packed up their fur-babies and mountain gear to head up to Frasier, CO for a weekend adventure. They talked, they laughed, they hiked, they ate and then they kissed! They quickly fell back in love and by the end of the weekend they stopped by a jewelry store to look at engagement rings. That was April 15th, 2017 and Michael proposed in their kitchen with the dogs leaping and crying with excitement on October 22, 2017.

Their story basically gives hope to all those people out there! Don’t give up on your dream girl or boy. . . it might not be the right time the first or second. . . but by the third time it might be magic!

Thank you guys for being YOU! You are why I do this job I do! I’m so happy to have captured this amazing day for you and to have two new friends out of it!

Cheers!!
