Why Your Wedding Album is So Important

Wedding AlbumsYou’ve chosen your wedding photographer.  You’re excited for your photos.  You’ve made a big investment, and you can’t wait to get back those beautiful images from the happiest day of your life!

And you really don’t want them just sitting on your desktop.

Wedding photography is about so much more than an image, than a click of a shutter and a file on your computer.  Wedding photos are a legacy.  And I truly believe that one of the most important things you can do after your wedding day is to preserve your images in a handcrafted custom wedding album!

Wedding Day AlbumsHaving your images as digital files will be amazing (and I can’t imagine not giving that to every client) – but having a tangible album…being able to sit down together, flip through the pages, and relive your wedding day through a beautiful book in your hands?  It’s an experience you will never forget!

And here are 4 reasons why I believe having a wedding album is an incredibly important investment:

1. You will get to relive your story.

An album is like a beautiful storybook.  And from that moment that you see each other for the first time, to that emotional walk up the aisle, to your first married kiss, and finally your grand exit at the end of the night, it’s worth remembering over and over.  Because I am so familiar with the gorgeous images from your day, I can do the first round of album design for you – and let you focus on being able to hold and page through your beautiful finished storybook!

2. Your album will never go obsolete.

Our generation is so engrossed with technology – which is an awesome thing, except for when it comes to things that really have heart. Electronics are constantly changing, and methods we used for photo delivery even just 5 or 10 years ago are becoming outdated. (Flash drives, anyone?)  As much as we value the convenience of a DVD or a flash drive they aren’t going to be around forever – but with an album, the only thing that time is going to change is add a little more dust. 🙂

3. You’ll have a beautiful family heirloom to pass down.

I remember paging through my grandma’s wedding album..admiring the photos, and stroking the pages as I relived her wedding day.  Your files might not be around in 100 years, but your album is a tangible product you can pass down to your children, grandchildren, and future generations to come – as they take the time to remember your beautiful wedding day, and the love you have for each other.

4. You can personalize your album to reflect your style.

Your wedding day is incredibly unique and beautiful, and your photo album should be too!  We can work together to customize your album exactly the way you want it to be.  Once you decide the type of cover you would like (leather or linen), your preferred color, and the album size, I will match photos together that tell your wedding day story in a flowing, cohesive way. Then I will send you the proof of the design to view – and we can make adjustments to create your dream wedding album!

You can save some money by not having an album made.  But I promise, you will regret it in the years to come.  By having a beautifully handcrafted wedding album, you are preserving your memories in a way that matters for you and your new spouse…and you’ll have those moments to relive for the rest of your life.

Your story is beautiful…now let’s tell it together. 🙂
